As our flight gently touched down on the runway of Xining Caojiabao Airport, a breeze infused with the fragrance of Galsang flowers rushed in at an altitude of 2,275 meters, instantly sweeping away the fatigue of our long journey. This city, known as the “Summer Capital,” welcomed us with its rich yak yogurt and tender hand-held lamb, kicking off our eight-day northwestern loop tour.

Leaving Xining, we headed for the Qilian Wonderland Pasture. A vast green carpet stretched to the horizon, grass waves undulating in the wind, dotted with wildflowers. In the distance, the Qilian Mountains stretched uninterrupted, their snow-capped peaks gleaming silver in the sun. We spurred our horses, the wind whistling in our ears; we lay supine on the meadow, watching the clouds roll by, listening to the birdsong, letting our bodies and minds relax in the embrace of nature.

The Colorful Danxia scenic spot was undoubtedly the most breathtaking scene of our trip. The interwoven reds, oranges, yellows, greens, cyans, blues, and purples of the mountains resembled God's overturned palette, freely splashing across the landscape. Castles, pagodas, folding screens...the myriad forms are a breathtaking display of natural craftsmanship. The sunlight, pouring in, intensified the vibrant colors, leaving us mesmerized and unable to leave.

The adjacent Danxiakou Resort Town, with its quaint stone buildings, exudes Northwestern charm and a lingering sense of history. Beyond the breathtaking scenery, we savored the rich cultural heritage, its simple elegance adding a touch of tranquility to our journey.

Jiayuguan, known as "the most magnificent pass under heaven," stands majestically at the westernmost end of the Ming Dynasty Great Wall. We stood shoulder to shoulder along the imposing wall, touching the cold, ancient bricks, and seemed to hear the echoes of history's wars in the wind. The towering fortress, the vast Gobi Desert, and the distant mountains, formed a magnificent and majestic landscape of the frontier.

On the way to Dunhuang, the Son of the Earth sculpture rests quietly on the sand dunes, its silent gesture telling of eternity and breathing life into the desolate landscape. Meanwhile, the illusion of a mirage, cast through the magic of light, presents a fairyland-like spectacle before our eyes, drawing our awe and allowing us to explore this mystery of nature together.

The wondrous symbiosis of Mingsha Mountain Crescent Spring in Dunhuang is unforgettable. Slide down the sandbanks, and the humming of the sands resonates like a mysterious melody. The Crescent Spring, a spring that has never dried up for millennia, resembles a crescent moon embedded in the sand sea. The steep sand peaks and crystal-clear spring water make this remarkable "symbiosis of sand and spring" even more precious as we explore it together.

The murals and sculptures of Mogao Caves left us breathless in awe, revealing the profound and brilliant artistry of a thousand years. 

Heidu Mountain, known as "the place on Earth that most resembles Mars," has a unique black rock and desolate landscape that makes it seem like something from another planet. Here, you can let your imagination run wild and capture photos that exude a sense of science fiction.

Mangya Emerald Lake is a hidden gem deep within the desert. Its emerald green waters shimmer like emerald, and mineral deposits create wondrous patterns of clouds, flowers, and birds. Looking around, the vast mountains and boundless desert are all around us, while this pool of turquoise waters stands alone, like a dream. We are captivated by this magic of nature.        Chaka Salt Lake lives up to its reputation as the "Mirror of the Sky." Its calm, mirror-like surface perfectly reflects the vast expanse of the sky and the clouds, blurring the lines between heaven and earth. We donned brightly colored clothes, leaving our reflections and laughter on the lake's surface. We then took a small train deep into the heart of the lake, experiencing together its ethereal purity.

Qinghai Lake, like a vast sapphire, nestled in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, shimmers in the azure waters, the water and sky blending into one, the boundaries dissolving. In midsummer, a sea of golden rapeseed blossoms intertwines with the azure waters, cattle and sheep graze leisurely, distant mountains capped with snow, and white clouds shimmer like cotton wool. When migratory birds gather, the bustle of Bird Island imbues this pristine blue with infinite vitality. Standing by the lake, we share this vastness and tranquility of nature.

On this journey to Qinghai and Gansu, every step we took was a breathtaking canvas weaving together nature and humanity—the azure waters of Qinghai Lake cleansed the soul, the clear mirror of Chaka Salt Lake reflected our original aspirations, the vicissitudes of the Mogao Grottoes recounted millennia, and the winds of the Qilian Grasslands sang of freedom. As we embarked on our return journey, laden with scenery and laughter, the magnificent sunrises we greeted side by side, the anecdotes we shared around the fire, and every pass we crossed together quietly solidified and deepened our team's bond. Though the journey ends, our friendship endures. The magnificent landscapes we witnessed together, the long journey we walked hand in hand, will ultimately transform into a stronger bond and a greater strength in our work.
